Family in Faith Church
What makes us different?
Family In Faith was formed by a group of eight individuals that were called by God to start a different kind of church. One that is not about corporate agendas.
We are not governed by a denomination, but by God alone! We do not have a budget. We started the church by funding it with our personal finances and by volunteering our time & talents.
We do appreciate any support given to help with the ministry. However, He wants our hearts, not our money! God Will Provide!
From our Pastor...
I’m Renee Thomas, and I’m blessed to be the Lead Pastor here at Family in Faith. God put ministry on my heart at a young age. I’ll save the story for now, but if you want to hear it let me know. I’m an unusual person for many reasons, but one being, I was baptized twice and rededicated twice. But don’t worry, it doesn’t make me “holier than thou”. I’m a sinner like everyone else. I did the Professional Career Life and felt like something was missing in life, it wasn’t enough to climb the corporate ladder. After a divorce I returned to Wisconsin and 6 years later, God called me into ministry.
I was involved in ministry for 17 years at a United Methodist Church when God had other plans and put it upon the hearts of a few committed modern-day disciples to start a non-denominational church here in Fennimore. God lead us to the facility and we started the manual work of clean up, fixing and a whole lot of praying. Less than 8 weeks later we had filed legal papers to become a church and we held our first worship service on Christmas Eve 2018.
I am a wife, mother, teacher (pastor & school), farmer, and hotel manager. My husband, Jeff, farms a 4th generation family farm, and leads worship using his gift of singing. Combined we have 4 young adult children whom we are proud of each of their accomplishments. I sub at the elementary school as well as fulfill pastoral duties and manage a 14 room hotel which is adjacent to the church facility. Life is full, but so exciting.
Family in Faith invites you to come worship, where you will feel like family, because you are – we are all God’s children. We are a bible teaching church, focused on God’s word in a Non-traditional setting. We love to worship and give glory to God as well as helping others – so missions are a focal point. We believe that we are to “God forth and make disciples of all men, sharing the good news to the ends of the earth” and we invite you to come experience God’s goodness.
It’s all about Jesus … Period.
Our simple mission is to grow God’s Kingdom and show His love by teaching scripture and serving others.

What to Expect
When you join us for worship be prepared to make yourself at home.
Grab something for breakfast or something to drink from the social area and head into the worship area and make yourself comfortable.
What Happens in Worship?
Our worship services are focused on prayer, scripture & music. Prayers are from the heart and spontaneous. Anytime is an awesome time to speak to God! Our worship leaders lead us in singing a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs throughout the service. Our music is a mix of the band and music videos depending on the song and musician’s availability.
What about the kids?
We have a short Faith Finders Kids Message during worship. Pastor Renee’s teachings are scripture-based that have been prayerfully prepared. For young children, we have busy bags with an assortment of items to keep them occupied. These available in the hallway by the bathrooms. For the antsy ones, fussy areas are available with toys & books. The Fussy Room is next to the worship area and has chairs & rocking chair available for parents as well.
After worship is over, we’d be delighted if you join us back in the Social Area for food & fellowship.
We have an area that has a park bench by the cross. Feel free to stop in there at any time and just sit and pray. If you have a prayer to share, there is paper and pens available there. Write it down and pin it to the cross. It is a wonderful feeling to give it to God and leave it at the cross. We will collect the prayer requests from there.
